They gave me an origami using the country of my hometown!!! Isn't that great? 😊 Food was really good. The staff are kind and one of them know one Tagalog word. I wanted to try pachinko but it was 1000 yen. Hahaha maybe next time again.

An awesome pachinko experience that might be impossible to get elsewhere. Here, staff will help you if it's your first time, and will cheer along the different events happening in the game. Really fun ! And bonus : anime songs are played in the bar side !The place is also non smoking and is not too crowded, which is way different from your usual pachinko parlor. It's definitely a good way to enjoy pachinko for fun rather than the usual try hard atmosphere of a pachinko parlor. There are three different sets, one at ¥750 (1 soft + 500 balls), one at ¥1500 (2 drinks + 1000 balls / 1 drink + 1 dish + 1000 balls) and another one at ¥2000 or ¥2500 (I don't remember exactly). If you're staying in Takayama and never experienced pachinko, you should definitely try it out ! Staff is kind, everything is relatively cheap, and it's fun !

Difficult game with the best explanation in whole Japan, best sake and the most friendly stuff in Takayama! Udinese rules!
Jerome Godfrey
Very friendly and attentive staff. Helped explain how to play and what to do to win!

Awesome place!! Good food, good drinks and good pachinko!! The attending people are great! Cheers from Mexico!

Amazing experience. Staff is very friendly and introduces you to the pachinko culture with informations to the games. English communication was above average for japan standards. Drinks and dishes were available in combinations with pachinko for very fair prices. Overall a must do for tourists in Takayama.

Great food. Even better staff, very helpful and kind. They speak English at a conversational level too. They can also help you learn how to use the Pachinko machines.

Not just great food; but this is a fun experience. The Takayama Ramen is delicious. We tried playing pachinko for the first time and the staff were all very friendly and happy to help. We were given a lovely souvenir at the end of our time at EBIS Cafe handmade by one of the friendly servers. I definitely recommend visiting if you're new to pachinko and want to learn to play just for fun.

Perfect place for foreigners to learn how to play pachinko! Very friendly staff with good English, Happy to help new players. No smoking, and not as deafening as the average pachinko parlor. Exchange winnings for souvenirs, alcohol, and snacks.
Mary Crowe
Lovely friendly owner, a fun and entertaining experience!! Well catered to English speaking tourists with menus and panchinko instructions. Had no idea what we were doing but apparently got a jackpot or two!

Staff very accomodating and will assist you if you don't know how to play pachinko. The cafe food is also decent. If you want to try out pachinko but do not want to gamble, this is the place.

Very friendly staff, good clean machines and the possibility to pachinko in a non-smoking area is nice.

The only place in my entire trip where I was a able to comfortably try Pachinko in a smoke free environment. Great fun and the staff was super friendly showing me how to play. Pachinko is like an improved Japanese version of slots. Can't wait to play some more!

This is THE place to try out pachinko! They created a place where you can play pachinko as a game and exchange the winnings (if you have any of course) for prices. The staff was extremely helpful and funny. They explained the rules and stayed with us for a bit to cheer us on. The cafe also provides a nice arrange of local sakes to try. Definitely recommend visiting them while in Takayama.

Incredible pachinko experience, friendly crew & relaxing cafe

Have you ever been curious about Pachinko but have been too intimidated to give it a try or have been put off by the heavy smoking. Well this cafe is perfect for you. You can relax and sit down for a meal or some drinks at the front or try out the Pachinko machines in the closed off area at the back of the cafe. The cafe is completely non- smoking. The staff were very helpful in showing us the ropes and giving us tips on what to do. Unfortunately, I couldn't get the hang of it and ran out of my allotted balls quickly. However, my friend unleashed some hidden pachinko powers and ended up 5 containers of balls up which he traded in for some nice souvenirs. Even though I was terrible at it, I thoroughly enjoyed my time there.Highly recommended!

The staff is very polite and they helped us find the vegeterian option. Overall good. Also while leaving they gave us a bird made of indian flag, which felt nice.

Friendly and fun cafe and Pachinko (Japanese slot machines) serving beers, coffees, matcha & bites to eat like Ramen or chips. They taught me how to play Pachinko (not for money but prizes) and had a lovely chat for about half hour. Great spot to have some downtime or a drink in Takayama.

I had an awesome time here. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. The game is played for fun, not for gambling. It's a great enjoyable way to spend some time if you are in Takayama, or even another very good reason to visit the city.

Great menu with lots of bar type food, nice to come in to have a small bite. The okonomiyaki was great. Personally not a fan of pachinko so I can't speak for that aspect.

If you would like to try Pachinko with a bit of guidance in a friendly atmosphere, this is the place to do it.

The ramen was simple but very good! and most of all: they had more than one vegetarian option! :-) Prices were alright as well.

Heard about this place through the "Abroad in Japan" podcast and thought we would give it a go. The staff were very friendly and were always close by if we needed something about pachinko explained, or celebrate with us if we got a jackpot! Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Takayama :)

Cool place and cool people there. Prices are fair and not inflated too. You can play and experience the pachinko if you want but theres no pressure to try it at all. Good place to just sit down and have food and drinks.

Very interesting pachinko cafeteria! Staff is super friendly and always smiling! The boss is fantastically good at origami (paper folding)! I tried my first pachinko game In the simulation machine! Unfortunately we did not have time to return for a second visit in our two days stay in Takayama! After all we had great time and sweet memory!

Fantastic place to pass time and try out pachinko machine. Do give it a try, had a fun time here

If all you want is great tasting drinks and food, this may not be your place- but if you’re a tourist and want to experience why pachinko is addictive, this is your only place. The first half is a cafe and the second part is a pachinko arcade. Their menu has combos that comes with pachinko balls - the staff will prepare the balls for you and then let you first practice on their demo machine before letting you venture off to play pachinko for real, but you can only win prizes. The staff here are very sweet and nice, they all know some degree of English and want you to have a good time.
Andrea Neaves
Great place, the staff is so welcoming and the food is exquisite. You should try the ramen and dumplings. And also if you want, you can play Pachinko.

This was a very disappointing place. We were served two minute noodles disguised as ramen, with a couple of slices of pork and a few bits of greens. The place doesn’t even have proper cooking facilities, just some electric hot plates. They are only interested in pachinko, and shouldn’t have advertised themselves as an eatery. The food was advertised with tax included, but when we paid at the end, we found they charged us extra tax. Compared to other places around in terms of value for money, quantity and taste, it is way down the scale.I would avoid this place if you are looking for somewhere to eat and not play pachinko.

The staff is super friendly and talked to us a lot, it was really funny sharing with them and also the food is good 🙌ðŸ¼ðŸ‘ðŸ¼

Ebis was all in all a super fun experience: good and reasonably priced food, very friendly staff, and non-smoking(!), beginner-friendly pachinko parlor. I’d never tried pachinko before but won lots of fun prizes! I hope I can drop by again some day!
